Finally at the fridge - but on top

I finished cooking and had some things on the kitchen table. Shock horror. I return to the kitchen later to find that they are on top of the fridge.

Lionel and Barry have been pretty much to themselves recently. The only times I know they are in the flat is when they move my things around, like my bag wont last a minute in the lounge before being either put out the window, or if they are feeling kindhearted, on top of the fridge.

I heard rumours of them moving out. That. Will. Be. Terrible.

All elements go

I approve of cooking big meals that you can save for the next day (or later in the night) and so it was with that approval I saw Lionel and Barry trudge into the kitchen laden with shopping bags full of bulk goodness.

They arrived at 5pm and got to work straightaway clearing the kitchen table (I had nothing on it this time) and preparing food.

About 5 minutes ago I went in to make my own dinner (a good 2 1/2 hours later) and Barry informed me that they wouldn't be done till 9. The kitchen looked like a military cookhouse - all elements with weird and wonderful items bubbling away and the stove jam packed with odd smelling things.

I grabbed an apple (gaining Barry's disapproval for the disturbance) and went back to my computer.

Moving food fail again

So I get home and my food is on the floor again. It is clear to me now that Lionel gets some sort of pleasure on having that table with nothing on it.

Rubbish bins

There is no reason to litter in Wellington. I was walking around with my friend today and he shared the same lament telling me that he's seen people within metres of rubbish bins and not using them.

There is a bin within 10 metres of you at any location in town!

Good on you Wordpress

After reading:

http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/wordpress_stays_hip_with_the_t.php

I feel refreshed that a program is being actively developed in the right way. By embracing new standards and platforms as well as fine-tuning, Wordpress is an exciting piece of software.

Having used the system extensively over the last week doing theming and other development, Wordpress has shown me a solid developer codex, stable working environment and countless plugins that are easy to install and configure.

Blogger, please take note.

Laundry

This morning I woke up to my door being opened quietly. Not so quiet as to not wake me, but quiet enough to make sure that I knew the person had made an effort. Then a pair of underwear was slung over the top of the door, followed by another and then another. When no more space was available a solitary sock was placed on my door handle.
When I got up, I saw that the whole house had been decorated with wet clothes.

It has been wet recently, and I do a little laundry here and there when I get a chance. But I wonder if it's unreasonable for them to use my door as a drying rack.

Massaging pain

I've been going to a deep-tissue massage therapist for a couple of weeks and it's probably the most pain I've been in. The lady who does it is very nice but has fingers of iron.

To me, it feels as though she searches my back for sore spots and then when found, she will rub them as hard as she can. I know she is most likely removing knots and easing tension etc but sometimes it gets so bad that my body started to take on the "fight or flight" mentality. Luckily I am often face down so she can't see my face in a rictus of pain.
